Col Ferret, 2024 water soluble graphite on synthetic paper 80 x 119 cmHiking in 2019, I was confronted with the extraordinary devastation of a severe weather event where supercells and bow-echoes flattened large areas of old-growth forests, claiming lives and leaving a trail of destruction from the Alps to the Greek coastline. These fallen timbers are a stark reminder of the destructive power of climate change, implicating anthropocentric economic, cultural, and political constructs and the imaginative and cultural failures at the heart of the climate crisis.
