Shelter, 2025 oil on canvas 150 x 150 cmIn the wild heart of Tasmania’s wilderness is the iconic Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake – places I have a very emotional response to each time I visit. In the shadow of this majestic mountain, resting on the lake’s edge at the mercy of the elements is an old boat shed. A small structure in a vast and awe-inspiring landscape. It represents for me the desire to be brave in the world and experience its beauty and immensity, whilst still needing those vital spaces of shelter and refuge within it.
