Darkest Hour, 2023 glazed black stoneware, lustre 37 x 31 x 16 cm'Darkest Hour' is about the liminal space between being asleep and being awake. It’s about that tender human experience of waking up at 4am with something troubling my mind. I believe that art can ease a sense of upheaval. I’m noticing there’s a lot to be deeply concerned about right now and it’s causing us all to become wide awake. My work explores concepts of death and impermanence as well as the fragility of nature and beauty.
